We have been in attendance at the 5th Oil Palm Biomass Conference over the past two days, as we unveiled our entrance into the Asian market with the launch of Onnu Bioflow. Onnu Bioflow’s mission is to develop the biomass products industry for the environmental impact it can have, both in terms of carbon negative production in the case of biochar, and the displacement of fossil fuel use in the cases of black pellets, biocarbon and bio LNG. We have strategically located our Asia office in Kuala Lumpur, with our first Malaysian production site scheduled to go live in the coming months.
Many constructive conversations have been had over the two-day conference, including meeting with Foong Hin Chan, Deputy Minister of Plantation and Commodities in Malaysia. We spoke about the palm oil industry and how our pyrolysis and torrefaction solutions can make the most of the wealth of biomass available in the region. On Tuesday, Matt Keniston, our new Head of Business Development in Asia, delivered a talk to close the Oil Palm Biomass Conference, bringing an end to two very insightful days.
“It was great to speak with Foong Hin Chan, Deputy Minister of Plantation and Commodities in Malaysia, discussing our joint goal of a greener, more sustainable future.” said Giles Welch, Onnu CEO “We’ve launched Onnu Bioflow in South East Asia as it is somewhere with huge potential when it comes to the amount of biomass that can be used for good. The palm oil industry is one that is seeing a big transformation, and we hope to play a part in this shift, using our technology to sequester CO2 and create value for local business.”
